Tessa is one of those unforgettable stray cats who found her way into my heart—and into the heart of our community. I first met her as a tiny, fragile kitten when her mother, Mama Cat, brought her and her siblings to our backyard. Back then, The Comeback Cats Inc. was just an idea, but I knew I had to help her.
When I found Tessa again, she was outside a crack house, nursing her own litter. What broke my heart even more was learning that her kittens were being sold by the people living there to fuel their addiction. When they caught wind of my attempts to rescue her, they locked down the place, and for a while, I thought I’d lost her forever.
Then, just two months ago, as if guided by some gentle miracle, Tessa showed up at our door. She remembered her name and came right to me, like she never forgot who cared for her. I was able to bring her inside, where she is being aptly cared for.
Tessa’s story is a beautiful testament to the strength and hope that stray cats carry with them—One day, she'll be placed in a loving, forever home where she'll never again suffer the hardships of the streets.
